Cucina Alba is looking for professional and polished CAPTAINS to join our team! This is a pivotal role on our team, you must ensure that guests have a pleasant and memorable dining experience. The ideal candidates will be passionate and have a commanding knowledge about food, wine, and service in general. The candidates will guide the guests experience from start to finish offering up genuine hospitality.
Position Description
- Provide exceptional service - engaging with guests and anticipating needs while guiding their experience
- Professional demeanor
- Italian food and wine knowledge
- Experience in New York Times 2- or 3-star restaurants preferred.
- Flexible schedule
Required Experience
- Experience in high-volume restaurants (2+ years Manhattan experience preferred)
- Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally
- Observant and thorough
- Responsible and punctual
- Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and open availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
