Cotogna is the quintessential neighborhood spot featuring seasonally and daily changing Italian cuisine with house-made pasta, spit-roasted and grilled meat, wood-oven pizza, local seafood, and produce coming from the restaurant’s own farm. In keeping with Chef Michael Tusk’s cuisine, Cotogna showcases the best of Italian viticulture with an emphasis on organic, small scale wines true to their terroir.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Lead Host is responsible for coordinating and managing all reservations, seatings, guest assistance, and the flow of guests in and out of the restaurant This role supports FOH leadership and provides the host team with directives throughout the shift. 


RESPONSIBILITY AND SPAN OF AUTHORITY:

  • Responsible for greeting all guest in a warm, friendly and welcoming manner.
  • Accurately record reservations and do everything possible to accommodate guest needs.
  • Maximize seating in the Cotogna dining room by manipulation the reservation sheet.
  • Communicate all VIP and guests of note to ownership, management and the Chef.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment. Keep all service stations/areas clean and organized at all times.
  • Responsible for the general cleanliness and stocking of guest restrooms.
  • Report any and all issues that arise with guests to a member of management in a timely fashion.
  • Confirm all outstanding reservations on a daily basis.
  • Greet and say goodbye to all guests at Cotogna.
  • Have a working daily knowledge of the menu.
  • Maintain a personal appearance that is neat and clean and have a clean and pressed uniform at all times.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • Fining dining restaurant experience 
  • 1-2 years in a host/maitre d' position 
  • Experience working with reservation software
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills

Compensation: Hourly ($18.07) plus tips
