Job Description:
The Captain is in charge of their sections experience. They lead and guide our guests through our unique tasting menu experience. Guided by our service standards and their own expert knowledge of cuisine and wine, the Captain at Esme has a mastery of hospitality that creates genuine connection with their guests.
The Back Server is intergral part of the service team. This person works closely with Captains and Management to guide the guests' experience and ensure that all service standards are met. They must have a strong understanding of service mechanics and a sharp eye for detail.
Job Requirements:
- 1-2 years of service experience in a fast-paced, restaurant (fine dining preferred)
- Available Wednesday-Sunday
- Polished and professional demeanor
- Positive, team-player mentality
- Ability to take initiative and assist colleagues without prompting
- A genuine love for food, seasonality, and hospitality
- Ability to remain calm in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills
Who We Are:
Esmé is a one Michelin star restaurant, located in the heart of Lincoln Park. The space is owned and operated by Chef Jenner Tomaska and wife and partner Katrina Bravo. The couple have reimagined the tasting-menu model with philanthropy and art integrated into the foundation of the experience, an expression of their shared vision for the community-focused restaurant.
The team partners with a local artist each season and displays their pieces throughout the restaurant for guests to view and purchase. The culinary team draws inspiration from featured artists to curate a tasting menu to compliment the featured artwork.
