HEAD CHEF for an ITALIAN restaurant (super successful and been open for 10 years in prime SoHo NYC.

We take pride in using the freshest local and imported ingredients to create dishes that are both classic and innovative.


**Position Summary**

We are seeking a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead the culinary team at our Italian Restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a deep appreciation for Italian cuisine, a creative approach to menu development, and a proven track record of managing a high-performing kitchen. The Head Chef will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests, and fostering a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Culinary Leadership**

- **Menu Development:** Create and execute innovative menus that reflect the restaurant's vision and the richness of Italian cuisine, balancing traditional dishes with modern twists.
- **Quality Control:** Ensure all dishes meet our high standards of taste, presentation, and consistency.
- **Ingredient Sourcing:** Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to source the freshest and finest ingredients, both locally and from Italy.

**Kitchen Management**

- **Team Leadership:** Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- **Scheduling:** Oversee kitchen staff schedules, ensuring efficient operation during all shifts.
- **Health & Safety:** Ensure the kitchen complies with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

**Financial Management**

- **Budgeting:** Manage food costs and labor expenses, working within the budget to maximize profitability.
- **Inventory Control:** Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation, minimizing waste and optimizing resources.
- **Cost Control:** Develop and implement cost control measures without compromising on quality.

**Customer Experience**

**Guest Satisfaction:** Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and a superior dining experience for all guests.
-**Feedback Management:** Actively seek and respond to guest feedback, using it to continuously improve the dining experience.

**Innovation and Trends**

- **Industry Trends:** Stay abreast of industry trends, incorporating new techniques and ingredients into the menu.
- **Special Events:** Plan and execute special events, seasonal promotions, and tasting menus that enhance the restaurant's profile and attract new patrons.

**Qualifications**

- **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef, preferably in an upscale Italian restaurant.
- **Education:** Culinary degree or equivalent professional training.
- **Skills:**
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for Italian cuisine.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and inventory.
