We are looking for a full-time barista with a passion for specialty coffee and a focus on hospitality to join our team at Patti Ann’s Diner. Greg Baxtrom's Diner  and bakery on Vanderbilt is part of the Olmsted and family on Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn. Our Bakery and Resaurant are both buzzing with energy on a daily basis. Offering morning shifts, we are looking for problem solvers, who have experience in a fast paced cafe or restaurant environment.

Requirements:

• Knowledge and understanding of specialty coffee / tea
• Properly prepare all beverages to the highest standards
• Must understand all the machines used during coffee service including the grinders, percolators and espresso machine and maintain these machines to spec
• Dial in drip coffee and espresso machine
• Foam milk correctly
• Maintain cleanliness and always restock equipment as needed.
• Ability to multitask in high-volume service
• Proficient use of POS functions
• Cash handling and communication skills with management done with utmost professionalism.
• DOHMH Food Protection Certificate a plus
• Excellent customer service skills and eager and positive
• Able to work early mornings and weekends which will be required with this role.
• Committed to incredible teamwork, able to balance team and individual responsibilities.

Additional requirements:

• Must be able to lift/move up to 10lbs.
• Barista coffee/artwork is preferred.
• Must be able to work full shifts, available weekday and weekend mornings. Extra shifts are available, if want to be captain.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously
• Must be available Weekends
