We are seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team and be a leader of a true NYC staple! With 35+ years of operating under our belt, we are looking for a driven chef who has the leadership qualities to mentor and guide our culinary team that will shape the next 30+ years. Your Role with Us:
- Leading the hourly kitchen team members in every capacity and developing them into future sous chefs.
- Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, supervise line and prep employees.
- Fill in as needed in a every station; expedite and assist with purchasing product.
- Ensuring that all meals coming from the kitchen are well prepared and are up to the standards of restaurant, monitor quality, consistency, taste and monitor food cost.
- Provide training for all staff; assist in establishing and enforcing food specifications, portion control, recipes and sanitation; and control food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction.
We Are Looking for Candidates:
- With an uncompromised commitment to quality and consistency. We love food and you should too!
- With previous Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine experience in a full-service scratch kitchen
- Who have strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team. A passion for team member development is a must!
- With a strong understanding of Food preparation techniques and health department rules and regulations.
- With the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, in a deadline driven, demanding environment.
- Who have experience with restaurants producing around $10 million in revenue or more. Previous experience with restaurants that do a lot of banquets and events is preferred.
- Who are well organized, self-motivated, proactive, and have a strong attention to detail.
- With knowledge of restaurant finances, profitability, scheduling and labor management.
- Who have proficient computer skills.
- Who are able to communicate in English
