Job Details

We are seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team and be a leader of a true NYC staple!  With 35+ years of operating under our belt, we are looking for a driven chef who has the leadership qualities to mentor and guide our culinary team that will shape the next 30+ years. As a CDC you are responsible for making sure every Southern Italian dish is made the Carmine’s way! Our long-standing reputation brings guests in, but it is the food and experience that keeps them coming back.

Your Role with Us:

  • Leading the hourly kitchen team members in every capacity and developing them into future sous chefs.
  • Oversee daily operations of the kitchen, supervise line and prep employees.
  • Fill in as needed in a every station; expedite and assist with purchasing product.
  • Ensuring that all meals coming from the kitchen are well prepared and are up to the standards of restaurant, monitor quality, consistency, taste and monitor food cost.
  • Provide training for all staff; assist in establishing and enforcing food specifications, portion control, recipes and sanitation; and control food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction.

We Are Looking for Candidates:

  • With an uncompromised commitment to quality and consistency. We love food and you should too!
  • With previous Sous Chef or Chef de Cuisine experience in a full-service scratch kitchen
  • Who have strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse kitchen team. A passion for team member development is a must!
  • With a strong understanding of Food preparation techniques and health department rules and regulations.
  • With the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize workload, in a deadline driven, demanding environment.
  • Who have experience with restaurants producing around $10 million in revenue or more. Previous experience with restaurants that do a lot of banquets and events is preferred.
  • Who are well organized, self-motivated, proactive, and have a strong attention to detail.
  • With knowledge of restaurant finances, profitability, scheduling and labor management.
  • Who have proficient computer skills.
  • Who are able to communicate in English
  • With open flexibility to work various shifts.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($100,000.00 - $130,000.00)
