Job Title: Experienced Line Cook

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Reports to: Head Chef / Sous Chef

Job Summary:

Schulson Collective is seeking an experienced line cook to join one of our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, maintaining kitchen efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Food Preparation and Cooking:

    • Prepare and cook a variety of upscale dishes according to the restaurant's recipes and standards.
    • Experience handleing dry-aged cuts of meat.
    • Plate and garnish dishes in an attractive and consistent manner.
  2. Kitchen Operations:

    • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies before and during service.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
    • Follow kitchen procedures and protocols to ensure smooth operation.
  3. Quality Control:

    • Monitor food quality from preparation to plating to ensure it meets restaurant standards.
    • Perform taste tests to ensure dishes are prepared correctly and to specification.
    • Adjust seasoning and flavor of dishes as needed.
  4. Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate and prioritize orders.
    • Assist with training and mentoring junior cooks and kitchen assistants.
    • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a line cook in an upscale restaurant
  • Culinary Skills: Strong cooking techniques & knife skills - knowledge of high end ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in cooking, plating, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
  • Time Management: Ability to work quickly and efficiently while handling multiple tasks.
  • Team Player: Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Expected to work 4 full shifts per week in a high-end restaurant
