Job Details

General Description: Servers are responsible for all aspects of the guest experience at the table, including greetings, menu sales, table maintenance, overall guest satisfaction and happiness, fond farewells and maintain a general command of the food and beverage menu. 

You will work to provide impeccable hospitality to each of our clients, working specifically with each individual need to curate the best experience possible. 

Key Responsibilities

Service

  • Maintains warmth and hospitality in all correspondence with guests
  • Complete opening and closing side work checklist for shift daily
  • Set up dining room according to step-by-step guide and specifics laid out in the service manual
  • Work with the rest of the service team to ensure that the dining room is fully set up in time, offering help to teammates as necessary 
  • Help guests to make selections from food and beverage menus, suggest courses and pairings, explain any off-menu dishes, answer all food preparation questions
  • Take orders from guests, ensuring 100% accuracy when entering orders into POS
  • Run food to guests and keep on top of table maintenance
  • Check identification of all customers who appear under 40 to verify they are of legal drinking age prior to serving them
  • Communicate with the kitchen to manage timing of courses, any guest feedback, etc.
  • Deal with guest complaints by finding a way to say yes; involve the manager on duty as needed
  • Process guest payments in timely, accurate manner
  • Process financials on shift-by-shift basis, including submitting accurate cash sales
  • Accurately report cash and credit card tips and contribute to tip pool as applicable
  • Maintain sanitation to DOH standards; Keep work area clean and organized 
  • Inform supervisor on duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations
  • Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
  • Be a team player—support and assist your fellow team members whenever possible
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management 
  • Communicate all necessary guest information with the team to set everyone up for success (allergy alerts, VIPs, special requests, celebrations, etc.)

Menu Knowledge 

  • Maintain an understanding of Argot’s food menu and have the ability to clearly describe our offerings 
  • Have a grasp of Argot’s beverage program and be able to summarize our philosophy and identify our different offerings 
  • Understand different types of allergy restrictions and help communicate potential issues to floor and kitchen staff

Brand

  • Understand and communicate Argot’s values and brand philosophy to guests and staff and set the tone for a positive work environment
  • Promote the Argot’s vision while establishing us as an innovator within our industry
  • Walks the talk with who we are and what we stand for internally and externally
  • Brings to life a guest-centric vision with our restaurant & retail operations

Experience/Education

  • Minimum 1+yrs experience in a restaurant
  • BASSET & Food Handler certification requiired
  • Ability to lift and move 50+ lbs
  • Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and POS systems
  • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business 
  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential functions 
  • Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in fast-paced environments 
  • Polished personal presentation: grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook

Compensation: Hourly ($9.48) plus tips
