Dominique Ansel Bakery is an award-winning bakery by celebrated Chef Dominique Ansel  located in Soho with our primary production facility and workshop based out of Dominique Ansel Workshop in Flatiron. We are seeking Delivery Drivers / Packers who have a passion for hospitality, an upbeat personality, and a positive attitude.  We are looking for someone with an attention to detail, high reliability, and who shows care and pride in their work. 


POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be based out of Dominique Ansel Workshop in Flatiron. The general scope of work will include but not limited to: Assist with picking and packing up items from our production facility in Flatiron and deliver to out retail location(s) in Manhattan, return to our Flatiron location, assist with packaging and packing of retail and shipping products, and an afternoon transfer of products. As we grow the business some small deliveries may be incorporated into the day-to-day operations. This role is Part Time between 20 - 25 hours per week.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

DELIVERIES

  • Safely loading, unloading, and driving a Cargo Van comfortably and with confidence.
  • Sorting, organizing, checking, and loading orders for delivery.
  • Delivering orders accurately following an assigned route schedule.
  • Keeping vehicles clean including unloading vehicles at the end of the workday and reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Providing constant communication regarding all issues that arise throughout the day to managers.
  • Communicating any quality or order discrepancies to appropriate channels as needed. 

PACKING

  • Assist with packaging our daily production of products with a sense of urgency and utmost care
  • Attention to detail with regards to quantities and detail of packaging
  • Communicate with manager on duty with regards to any questions or concerns with regards to quality or quantities
  • Work well with a small team of employees with a positive attitude

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must have a clean driving record and experience driving in NYC - minimum 1 year of driving experience
  • Be comfortable driving a Cargo Van (no CDL required)
  • Good knowledge of NYC streets and regulations
  • Please be able to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes (50lbs+) 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • A strong work ethic and strong attention to detail
  • Punctuality and time management is crucial
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to ever evolving situations.
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
  • Availability to work on weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment with co worker and guests

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00)
