The Lunchroom at SPACE 519 is looking for a Host | Front Counter Associate who is friendly and outgoing to join our team.  As the first impression for our guests, this role is key to achieving our goal of delivering a memorable experience for all who dine with us.  We offer a small team where all team members’ contributions are valued.

The Host | Front Counter Associate will be profession and polished in appearance; gracious and friendly in demeanor; and ready to deliver exception service to the store’s upscale clientele.  Previous restaurant | café experience, excellent communications skills and a positive energy are required.  Experience with Toast preferred – computer proficiency and phone etiquette are both mandatory.

General Responsibilities + Expectations:

• Maintain a professional and friendly communication style with in-person guests – and on the phone and in email – to create a welcoming client centric environment.
• Serve as restaurant ambassador | concierge to greet each guest as they enter and do whatever is necessary to assure they have the best experience possible.
• Have full knowledge of each table’s service status and use that information to give guests the best seating experience possible.
• Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage offerings, including: ingredients, methods of preparation and proper service; be able to explain all food and beverage items listed on the menu.
• Ring all to-go food and beverage items and properly handle payments with 100% accuracy.
• At the beginning of each shift create a seating plan that bests utilizes the restaurant’s space. Use knowledge of regulars and VIPs to put them in the best seats to assure they have the best experience.

• Assist with daily setup and breakdown of the dining area and midday resets, as needed.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Monitor sales of Lunchbox items, wine and fancy foods and report back to management on sales trends and popularity.
• This includes restocking and remerchandising all Lunchbox items and keeping track of all inventory regularly.
• Weekend and morning availability.
