Rippers is the beachside burger stand of lore. People travel to Rockaway Beach from all across NYC for its burgers, beers, and all around good vibes. We’re hiring for both FOH and BOH staff for our Summer ‘24 season. All waged employees take part in a tip-pooling system. Tips reflect the high volume nature of the restaurant. We’re ideally looking for candidates with hospitality or food service experience, but are willing to train if you’re newer to the industry. We are an equal opportunity establishment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-air conditioned environment and lift up to 25 lbs
• Willingness to take initiative, be adaptable, and work with a diverse team
• Reliable transportation to and from Rockaway Beach, including on weekends
• Preferred: Food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain certification during employment

Duties include but are not limited to:

• operating Square POS
• money handling
• working food pick up window
• expediting (if willing to train)
• serving beverages and frozen treats in compliance with DOH safety standards
• basic merchandising

Cashiers are the face of Rippers and the first point of contact for hungry guests coming off the beach. Exceptional customer service and problem solving are essential. Be chill, be fast, be friendly.
