Altro Paradiso is seeking an experienced MaÎtre D'

Altro Paradiso, opened in 2016 by chef and owner Ignacio Mattos, is inspired by the flavors, textures and warmth of Italian food and wine traditions. Located on a sunny corner across from Hudson Square, it takes cues from classic European bistros and New York’s neighborhood institutions. 

Altro Paradiso is currently seeking Maître D' that share our passion for cuisine, embraces a team-oriented style of service and are able to balance the nuanced demands of this dynamic position.  You will be the first point of contact for our guests, and a gracious and accommodating approach comes easily to you.

This position requires availability on weekends and holidays

 Requirements for Success

• Availability of weekends and holidays 
• Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor and attitude that will foster a welcoming environment for our guests
• Desire and willingness to learn and grow
• Previous customer service experience
• Previous experience as a Maître D
• Ability to clearly, calmly, and concisely communicate
• Ability to lead a team 
• Experience using Resy or a similar platform
• Ability to keep the flow of service
• Ability to work in fast paced environments 

Guest Service 

• Ensures all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service. 
• Responds positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints. 
• Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff. 
• Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment. 
• Builds relationships with repeat guests. .
