Summary
The barback reports to the Bar Manager and works with staff members to ensure that L’Antica’s guests receive prompt, seamless service. The barback assists in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the bartenders and ensure the bar operates smoothly.
Responsibilities
• Ensure a well organized and clean storage area for kegs, liquor, wine, beer and beverages
• Organize and shelve beer, wine, beverage, produce and liquor deliveries
• Take inventory of bar stock (liquor, wine, beer, juice, garnishes, mixers, ice bins, straws, coasters, napkins, toothpicks, ice cubes) and replace items as needed before, during and after service
• Run food, clear plates, wipe down tables and clean up spills for bar guests.
• Collect empty glasses and bottles
• Wash, polish and restock glassware
• Wash shakers, blenders, prep equipment, mixing and cutting tools
• Wipe down bar, table tops, chairs, rails and high touch surfaces
• Maintain overall appearance and cleanliness of bar (push chairs and stools in, arrange drink menus, salt and pepper shakers, etc)
• Ensure bartenders are equipped with clean glasses at all times
• Maintain clean towels in each bartender’s station
• Assist the bartenders during rush hours
• Prepare mixers, juices and cocktail garnishes, ensuring garnishes are prepared to bar manager specifications
• Change out beer kegs and replace liquor bottles
• Empty trash/recycle cans, spot sweep and mop throughout service
• Scrub coolers, storage areas, sinks, barista equipment and area
• Assist bar manager with bar inventory
• Check taps, coolers, sinks and other appliances like blenders or coffee makers are working properly; troubleshoot simple malfunctions as needed, report repair items to bar manager
• Memorize cocktail recipes and other menu items
• Restock the bar for the following shift
• Maintain records and report levels of usage to assist in the reordering process Requirements
• Be of legal age to serve alcohol
• Proven experience as barback
• Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking and time management skills
• Must have a flexible schedule (may be required to work late shifts, weekends, or holidays as needed)
• Basic knowledge of bar menu items and recipes (different types of beers and mixed drinks)
• Physical ability to lift beer kegs, hold trays of bottles and glassware and stand during the shift
• Good understanding of restaurant health and safety regulations
