Patisserie Fouet is a Japanese/French Patisserie by day and Dessert Bar by night, lead by Executive Chef Yoshie Shirakawa. Our original shop is located in Union Square, however, we are expanding and adding a second location in Hell's Kitchen (52nd St & 9th Ave).
We are hiring a full time assistant baker to join the team. Culinary Education is required with at least 1 year of experience.
Shifts: 5 days/week, 8am-4am (8 hr shifts)
Compensation: $16-$19/hr (based on experience)
Duties:
- Prepare a variety pastries and desserts according to recipes and standards.
- Measure and mix ingredients, knead dough, and shape dough into loaves or other forms
- Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofing cabinets
- Monitor baking process to ensure products are baked to standard
- Prep support for production pastry chefs and bakers
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules and ensure timely production
- Inventory management and ordering
Experience:
- Previous experience as a baker in a restaurant or catering setting is required
- Knowledge of different baking techniques and recipes
- Familiarity with commercial baking equipment and tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent time management skills
