Job Summary & Mission
The Line & Prep Cooks at BOPOMOFO CAFE are passionate about fresh ingredients, great technique and delicious and memorable food. You must have proven ability to provide quality customer service and demonstrated knowledge of kitchen equipment handling, kitchen standard operating procedures and the ability to consistently produce recipes and dishes. Line Cooks use a wide range of cooking methods and kitchen tools to make our dishes perfect and have responsibility for serving all products with friendly, individualized attention towards each customer/order.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and missions of BOPOMOFO CAFE.

Maintains efficient, friendly service standards and demonstrates such standards when working with other team members.

Preparing, to order all food dishes following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.

Prepping assigned items associated with assigned station; ensuring freshness of ingredients; labeling prepped ingredients with name of item, date and time prepped, and initials or prepared.

Great technique; strong knife skills and a range of cooking methods set you apart.

Attention to detail, you know your weights, measurements and volumes.

Washing and cleaning raw food products.

Cleanliness & Organization; Routinely cleans the Kitchen, speciality equipment upkeep, and storage, mop sink and other parts of the restaurant. Everything has a place.

Team Player and understands that it takes a team to keep our kitchen’s moving.

Understanding and constantly being aware of safety and sanitation standards for food handling and applying that knowledge to other team members.

Comfortable standing for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 50 lbs and continuously bend, reach and twist.

Follows BOPOMOFO CAFE’s operational policies and procedures, including those of clocking in/clocking out, culture and core values.

Taking pride in personal appearance; reporting to work in a neat and clean uniform; maintaining well groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by company policy.
Required Knowledge & Skills and Abilities

Exceptional strong guest focus mentality, with the ability to provide an exceptional dining experience for each guest

Culinary school or previous culinary experience

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, hands-on environment

Communicate clearly and concisely with team members and managers

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

Manage personal work flow under time pressure

Subject to cleaning chemicals, heat, moisture, steam, humidity, open flames, cooking odors, refrigeration/freezer temperatures, loud noise and wet floors.

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:- Executing menu items from start to finish
- Participating in the preparation of new menu items
- Honing existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set
- Working with ingredients for the preparation of menu items
- Assisting the kitchen team with all preparation and organization in the kitchen
- Maintaining cleanliness of any kitchen work areas, including refrigeration, cooking equipment, and prep areas
- Participate in deep cleaning of kitchen work areas
- Performing with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission at BOPOMOFO
