The MOUTH is Williamsburg's freshest addition to the area offering Mediterranean-American fare, mixology program, and features natural wines and local beers, entertaining industry events and more. A subsidiary of and conjoined to Brooklyn Art Haus, The MOUTH is open from 9am-10pm or until 2am during nightlife every day except Mondays. Coffee Bar is from 9am-3pm, Happy Hour from 3-6pm, and Dinner service from 5-10pm with reservations available on RESY. The restaurant capacity is 35 with an additional 20 in the lounge, 12 in the PDR, standing space at the bar, and limited service inside Brooklyn Art Haus for certain events. Our staff is currently 15 and full of excellent professionals and personalities. We're proud of this wonderful team.
We seek a General Manager that can build partnerships between the community and the original, innovative art that is featured throughout our performance space, studios, gallery, bar, and kitchen. Hospitality and organization are key for this position that is both engaging and demanding. Moreover this ideal candidate loves food, art, culture, and the beautiful diversity of expression. Ideal candidates are those with strong backgrounds in hospitality and have a passion for art and culture.
The GM will work side by side with the owners who are on site daily in addition to a support staff structure.
Responsibilities:
- On-site position
- Liaison between Executive Chefs, Kitchen Manager, Lead Bartender, Lead Barista
- Oversee payroll and facilitate contracts between staff, artists, vendors
- Handle ordering for cafe, bar, and oversee kitchen ordering, etc.
- Bookkeeping, record keeping, and reports of each operational day
- Oversee adherence to safety, legal, and insurance guidelines for company and production related events and activities
- Rotate into other FOH positions during call-outs
- Facilitate weekly management mtgs
- Organize special events alongside House Management team
- Partake and discuss season development and programming
- Manage internal staff in concert with Executive Directors
- Nurture an environment that supports the work of all artists at Brooklyn Art Haus
Requirements:
- 4+ years of hospitality administration experience
- Demonstrate knowledge of Quickbooks and accounting strategies, payroll, scheduling
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to facilitate and organize multiple projects at once from day to day, monthly, quarterly, yearly and know the difference
- Provide references
- Excellent social awareness, communication and strategy skills, problem solving and analytical skills
- Lead with empathy, kindness, support, and uplifting collaboration
COMPENSATION
This is a full-time position with an annual salary

Brooklyn Art Haus is an arts organization that premiers new and innovative productions. Our programming schedule comprises both in-house productions and visiting runs of productions from outside companies. Our theater, studios, podcast studio, gallery, lounge, bar, cafe, and kitchen are open daily, closed only on Mondays. Our art is curated both by our in-house team as well as visiting curators. Projects that happen within Brooklyn Art Haus focus on a topical response to the moment with an emphasis on social justice, cross-cultural dialogue, and reinvention of genre and form.
