Michelin-starred COTE Korean Steakhouse, located in Flatiron, is the carnivorous vision of proprietor Simon Kim that blends together the fun and fire of Korean Barbeque together with the hallmarks of a classic American Steakhouse. We are professionals committed to ensuring exceptional hospitality and service to our customers. We are seeking to hire dynamic and experienced Sommeliers  to join our award winning hospitality team.   • $15/hour ($10 cash wage, $5 tip credit) + tips (~$1400 to $1800/week).

Duties & Essential Functions:

  • Provides exceptional service to every customer.
  • Recommends wines to patrons based on price, personal taste, and food selection.
  • Demonstrates a friendly personality, strong knowledge of wine and spirits, and great interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses an expert understanding of region wine laws, appellations, grape varieties, harvest times, elevation, climate, soil, and fermentation processes.
  • Grills steak cuts to specification with elegance and finesse.
  • Assists other stations or areas of the restaurant when requested by management.
  • Must be able to lift heavy boxes (at least 50 lbs).
  • Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods of time over multiple floors.
  • Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing is required.
  • Available to work weekends, nights, and holidays as the business dictates.
  • Must be of legal age according to NY State regulations to serve alcohol (18 years).
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Food safety knowledge.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($16.00) plus tips

Estimated Weekly Tips: $1,700
