Retail Specialist

The Dinex Group is seeking a Full Time (40 hours/week) Retail Specialist for Jōji Box - the Pick-up/Take out extension of the fine dining Omakase restaurant, Jōji next door.

Ideal candidates will be team oriented, preferably have some prior retail, cashier and/or Sushi experience. Retail Specialists are responsible for providing extraordinary customer service.

The Retail Specialist will greet guests, ring up customer orders, handle monetary transactions, and have full knowledge of the menu. The Retail Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely packing of guest orders, restocking of inventory and running orders to either our retail location or messenger center for pick up.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Package food items according to company standards, ensuring that portions, presentation, and packaging materials are correct
• Provide courteous and efficient service to guests picking up their orders
• Answer incoming phone calls promptly and courteously
• Address guest inquiries, take orders, and handle issues efficiently
• Verify that all items in the order are included and correctly labeled
• Inspect food items for quality and presentation before packaging
• Handle special requests and dietary restrictions with care
• Understand the operations and interfaces of various third-party delivery platforms
• Accurately manage orders from delivery platforms, ensuring timely preparation and handoff to delivery drivers
• Stock, organize and maintain cleanliness of takeout packing station and retail shop
• Report any inventory shortages or supply issues to management
• Work quickly and efficiently to meet order deadlines, especially during peak hours
• Prioritize tasks to manage multiple orders simultaneously
• Deliver prepared orders from the kitchen to the designated retail shop or delivery pick-up center promptly and efficiently
• Assist in training new packing staff on company procedures and standards
• Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations

Requirements:

• Ability to work well under pressure
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per shift
• Good communication skills to work effectively with team members
• Ability to maintain the highest standards Food Safety and Sanitation practices with attention to detail
