Tia Pol is looking for a dynamic and ambitious part-time manager, Tuesday - Friday (25-30 hours per week) to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of the restaurant. Successful candidates are ready to inspire and mentor a team of servers and hosts to deliver unparalleled hospitality.
About the restaurant:
Tia Pol is a nearly 20-year-old neighborhood tapas restaurant and wine bar. We feature an all-Spanish wine list, and a classic menu of Spanish tapas with nightly blackboard specials.
Requirements include:
- 3 years experience in restaurant management
- Ability to think strategically and analytically about the financial health of the restaurant, forecasting as well as reporting in all arenas including cost control, labor, and profitability
- Strong food and beverage knowledge
- Ability to work and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and maturity
- Demonstrate ability for problem-solving and generating creative solutions in line with the restaurant's vision
- Genuine passion for hospitality
- Part-time availability, with the potential to move into a full-time role.
Responsibilities include:
- Labor and Staffing: Process weekly payroll, onboard and train all new employees, control labor costs, write schedules
- Floor management: Drive sales through maximizing reservations book, coach and mentor staff, observe and analyze challenges in service and present solutions
- Financials: Track and compare daily sales, monitor and identify purchasing irregularities including petty cash, forecast (along with budgets) spending and report to owners
- Facilities: Create and maintain cleaning schedules and monitor upkeep of the restaurant
- Kitchen management and communication: work with chef to manage labor and food purchasing
