LaLou, a neighborhood restaurant and wine bar on Vanderbilt Avenue in the heart of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn is seeking a part time shift supervisor. Its market-driven dinner menu showcase elevated but approachable wine-friendly food with a focus on locality and seasonality. The 450+ bottle list of natural, biodynamic and small production wines, is a collaboration between friends and former colleagues Joe Campanale (restaurateur, beverage expert, Food & Wine Sommelier of the Year) and Dave Foss (a hospitality veteran and former Anfora wine buyer).
We are looking for someone that is hosptitable, passionate and has a great energy. In this position, you will supervise dinner service 2 nights a week. With the option to Maitre D another 2 nights a week ($20 + tips). Wine Knowledge a Important.
Service Responsibilites:
- Ensure the restaurant is clean and the ambience is just right
- Run FOH without support from a salaried leader
- Make sure every guest leaves a fan.
- Provide high level guest resolution for any issues
- Ability to work and support all FOH positions including host, server, back waiter, bartender
- Set up and shut down the FOH, including cash closeouts and End of Night Reports
- Cut appropriate personnel when slow and manage breaks daily
- Communicate with team members and support/lead an effective pre-shift
- Assist with wine service
- Assist the Wine Director with maintence of the wine list
