JOB SUMMARY:
The BOH team member is a vital member of our team. In this role your passion for food and dedication to quality will contribute directly to our dining experience. In this position, you'll be responsible for the initial preparation of ingredients, ensuring they're ready for cooking, as well as the final cooking and presentation of dishes according to our recipes. This role demands a keen attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness and food safety. Whether you're prepping ingredients or cooking them to perfection, your work will be crucial in delivering the exceptional flavors our guests expect. - Wash, peel, chop, and cut ingredients in advance for cooking.
- Keep ingredients fresh and organize them in the pantry, refrigerator, or freezer, ensuring easy access for the cooking staff.
- Ensure that all necessary cooking utensils, pots, pans, and other equipment are clean and ready for use.
- Know the basic recipes and preparations for the kitchen they work in to assist with the proper preparation of ingredients.
- Cook and assemble dishes according to the restaurant's menu and chef’s instructions, often during busy service times.
- Keep their specific cooking station stocked, clean, and in functional order.
- Ensure that all food items are cooked to the correct temperature to meet safety standards.
- Manage their time effectively to ensure that dishes go out to customers in a timely manner, often juggling multiple orders at once.
- Work closely with other line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen staff to ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently. This includes communicating about order timings, any issues with ingredients or equipment, and helping others as needed.
- Taste and inspect dishes before they are served to ensure they meet the established standards of quality and presentation.
- Clean their stations at the end of service, and sometimes during service, to maintain health and safety standards.
- Follow health and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, including proper food storage and handling practices.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Able to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.
- Knowledge of the menu and beverage list and the ability to communicate clear suggestions to the guests
- Auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderated and controlled by facility environmental systems.
- Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time.
- Able to lift up to 25lbs. and on a regular and continuing basis.
- Able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, twist, walk, crouch, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Manual dexterity required to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Talking, hearing and seeing (vision) occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, Supervisors and other Employees.
