Ama encapsulates the Northern Italian lifestyle with its all-day dining concept, evolving from a cozy caffè in the mornings to an indoor-outdoor aperitivo bar in the afternoons, and finally transforming into a captivating restaurant at night. Guests are greeted with a transportive environment, regardless of the time of day. Evoking the romanticism of Italy, our ethos revolves around well-being, rooted in simplicity, slower living, and cherishing the present moment, all fundamental to our Italian heritage. We prioritize using whole, minimally processed ingredients sourced from conscientious farmers, resulting in dishes bursting with remarkable flavors. This approach yields a menu that is satisfying and memorable, yet never excessive, a quality our guests crave whether it's a casual Tuesday lunch or a festive Saturday night celebration.
Ama is currently in search of enthusiastic people who resonate with embracing the Northern Italian lifestyle. While international travel and experience is always a plus, it is in no way a requirement. What is a requirement is passion. A passion for food, beverage, service, hospitality, making people happy, and most of all: Restaurants. Ama is a restaurant by people who LOVE restaurants. Our General Manager (or Restaurant Director) position is just that: Someone who guides the restaurant through the day to day and long term operations. The right candidate sets the overall vision and strategy for the restaurant. They focus on long-term goals, market positioning, and growth strategies. They have a significant role in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring financial performance. The Restaurant Director offers assistance with menu development, ensuring it aligns with the restaurant's concept and market target. They also act in providing leadership to the management team and ensuring that all team members are properly trained by making sure they have the tools they need to be successful. Being able to curate and maintain a positive and motivated team is paramount to the position. The Restaurant Director maintains high standards of service, overall quality, cleanliness, and the overall restaurant experience for both guests and employees.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage all aspects of the restaurant, including food and beverage service, staffing, inventory, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Ensure all employees are properly trained, motivated, and engaged in providing excellent customer service
- Develop and implement strategies to increase customer satisfaction, repeat business, and profitability
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene in all areas of the restaurant
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers
- Analyze financial data and make recommendations for improvements to increase profitability
- Create and implement marketing and promotional strategies to increase brand awareness and attract new customers
- Oversee scheduling and labor cost control to optimize productivity and reduce expenses
