Primrose Restaurant is an upscale casual restaurant with French ish roots in Brookland, Washington DC. We are looking for a team player who is punctual, reliable, and responsible. We are looking for an individual who can create unique experiences by serving food and beverage as well as assist the leadership team with daily restaurant tasks. We believe in manifesting your chosen skill set within the restaurant and helping each member succeed as part of our community.
This individual is a team player, has a passion for customer service, and is able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work through stress. We are looking for individuals with previous experience mixing drinks, excellent customer service and communication skills, and those who are willing to continue their education in beverage service through our in-house training program. This position requires working nights, weekends and holidays; the hours will vary depending on the needs of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Take lead in bar operations to ensure the smooth running of the bar.
- Closing responsibilities of the restaurant.
- Knowledge in wines, spirits, and interested in learning further.
- Prepare bar programs in conjunction with the General Manager.
- Monitor and prioritize the cleanliness and maintenance of the bar area.
- Stock and manage inventory daily and monthly.
- Manage customer service issues, such as handling complaints about service, preparing some food items, recommending additional items, or providing other assistance.
- Manage bar staff and ensure that all employees adhere to health and safety regulations.
- Maintain exceptional customer relations at all times.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the food industry or hospitality required.
- Strong guest relations skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and team members effectively.
- Note: Culinary experience is a plus, but not required for this position.
- Collaborating with the kitchen and bar staff for prompt and correct delivery of orders.
- Memorizing the menu and recommend appetizers, meals and drinks.
- Delivering a memorable dining experience by resolving all customer issues promptly.
- Assist with the tidying of tables, clearing, and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant.
License/Certification:
- ABRA License, TIPS, ServSafe
