Gozu is in search of a dynamic, professional and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen and work closely with our service team.
GOZU is a tasting experience deeply focused on elevating the Wagyu breed while displaying its versatility and nuance through the craft of robata and the preparation of the animal in its entirety. We offer a nine course menu nightly Tuesday -Saturday.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining a very high standard in all aspects, of cooking, food quality, and consistency
- Streamlining daily tasks and maximizing efficiency
- Managing the day to day operation of the kitchen
- Maintaining, and nurturing purveyor relationships
- Training, and mentoring our kitchen team
- Working alongside our Chef de Cuisine to assist in the development of new menu items that align with the vision of Gozu
- This is a very small team. Applicants should expect to work a station and wear multiple hats.
Ideal candidates will posses the following experience and traits:
- A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible when required
- Ability to delegate when appropriate
- 2+ years in a culinary management role
- Experience in a fine dining environment
- Ability to lead a team by means of compassion, mutual respect and professionalism
- Organizational skills (both in a mental and physical capacity)
- Passion, patience and determination
- A love for professional cooking, hospitality and serving others
- a culinary degree is preferred but not required
Environmental and Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
