Job Description:
As the Executive Sous Chef at Steingold's of Chicago, you will be an integral part of our culinary leadership team, working alongside our Culinary Director to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations. From menu development and food preparation to staff management and customer satisfaction, you will play a crucial role in upholding our reputation for exceptional food and service. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design and execute innovative menu offerings that showcase our commitment to quality ingredients and bold flavors.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Lead and inspire a team of culinary professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and cost control to optimize profitability while minimizing waste and maintaining quality.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment where creativity, teamwork, and mutual respect are valued.
- Assist in special events, catering operations, and off-site collaborations as needed.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant, deli, or culinary establishment.
- Strong culinary skills and a passion for exploring new flavors, techniques, and ingredients.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a track record of effectively managing and motivating a diverse team.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for kitchen operations.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred.
- Toast and R365 experience is a plus
