Columbia Firehouse in Old Town Alexandria is looking for the perfect Sous Chef candidate. The position is responsible for expediting, assisting in production, hiring, and quality control through line checks, purchasing administration and running the operation in the Chef’s absence. This candidate will need to multi task in a high stress environment while staying calm and keeping the focus on putting out the best food possible for our guests. Each decision making opportunity should be a creative approach to leading, managing, and inspiring kitchen staff. Were currently in a redevelopment process that will encompass all food and beverage offerings. So this will be a great learning opportunity to start training.

Minimum 5+years experience as a line cook, and a history of increased responsibility in upscale-casual to fine dining style concepts.
Passion for the culinary scene, local sustainable food.
Communicating with the Front of the house staff, line cooks, prep and other managers
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and climb stairs and lift up to 50 pounds.
Must have the stamina to work 40 to 50 hours per week.
