Overseeing the residential upper east side hotel’s highly anticipated branded tea experience.  This role will be leading all aspects of the Afternoon Tea service in this highly specialized role within our prestigious establishment.

The Hotel has a long tradition of providing a remarkable afternoon Tea experience, this is an opportunity to elevate this to the next level as we partner with and brand our Afternoon Tea launching this Spring.

 

 

Expectations:

 

  • The ideal candidate would have extensive knowledge of Afternoon Tea service and handle the Floor as MD during service operations
  • Full Knowledge of Tea preparation and service is required.
  • A dedication to maintaining high quality product and high service standards is paramount.

  • Be a Brand Ambassador and enhance the Afternoon Tea experience.
  • This position required an active role in the operations, welcoming and engaging with guests.

Requirements:

  • Positive attitude and service oriented willing and able to go above and beyond, Ability to be warm, provide personalized service, courteous, efficient, friendly, and detailed in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • This position is a property-based (on-site) position
  • Previous experience in running a Luxury full afternoon tea is required

  • Possesses a proven track record for guest satisfaction
  • Experience in various capacities of restaurant staff (i.e.: server, host, bartender, busser, runner, etc.) strongly preferred
  • Passion for Luxury Food and Beverage and Excellence, New York City F&B Luxury Hospitality experience preferred.
  • NYC Food Protection Certificate and TIPS training is a plus
  • Excellent telephone and floor etiquette are required for this position. Excellent presentation.
  • Problem Solving, Ability to be creative, innovative and strive for continuous improvements,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Micros Shift4 and Opera Cloud.
  • FSD – Fire Safety Director certification is a plus
  • The ability to lift 25/50/. pounds when required
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds and Hotel alarms
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations timely
  • The ability to come to work in extreme weather
  • The ability to stand up at a desk or podium for extended period of time, including an entire shift

 

Responsibilities (these are not all-inclusive):

 

  • Managing the operations of the Floor on a day to day basis, maintaining consistent management presence.
  • Full responsibility to manage the reception area including restocking stationary supplies, counting cash banks, running micros reports, printing OpenTable Reports, email clients for gift cards or prepaid dinners, issue gift cards, handle credit card related issues and reimbursements.
  • Make all confirmation calls, notes in guest profiles and alert the Maître D’ of any potential issues.
  • Completing manager opening and closing checklists as required, including daily reports and daily administrative duties.
  • This floor manager is relied on heavily for micros authorizations and completing close of shift reports.
  • Leading and inspiring the staff to achieve, and ideally, exceed company goals.
  • Assisting, leading and conducting effective and consistent training sessions, department meetings and pre-shift sessions.
  • Resolving guest complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
  • Responding to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience.
  • Ensuring the neatness, cleanliness and order of all dining rooms and equipment through constant monitoring and communication with those departments responsible for cleaning and maintenance.
  • Assisting in setting up and carrying out inventories.
  • Assuring the proper handling of VIP guests via impeccable service and protecting their privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintaining controls against theft and waste. Control breakage of all dining ware
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including phone skills and a customer service oriented and proactive attitude.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($80,000.00 - $85,000.00)
