Organization:
Echo Lake Country Club, located in Westfield, New Jersey, just thirty miles from New York City, is an esteemed 18-hole member-owned club with a rich history dating back to 1899. The Club's golf course was designed by Donald Ross in 1913. Echo Lake Country Club was formed through the merger of the Cranford Golf Club and the Westfield Golf Club, and it boasts a family-oriented atmosphere, championship golf course, pool, and paddle program. A recent $12-million renovation has transformed the 30,000 square-foot Clubhouse into a vibrant hub, offering three bars, banquet facilities, multi-level dining, expansive patios, and breathtaking Manhattan Skyline views. In 2021, Echo Lake's Clubhouse was honored with the "Clubhouse Renovation of the Year" award from Club Inc. Magazine. The Club maintains a substantial waitlist for membership and boasts a long-term employment history.
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the Food Runner/Busser is to ensure the seamless and efficient delivery of food from the kitchen to the Members & maintaining a clean and organized dining room. Our Nusser/Runners are a support system for the service teams to ensure that Echo Lake provides the best service possible to our Membership.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently transport food from the kitchen to the correct tables.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of food.
- Ensure that food is presented correctly and that all orders are correct before delivery.
- Interact with Members and their guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Respond to any immediate needs or requests made by the Members.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Greet and welcome Members and their guests with a warm and welcoming attitude.
- Clearing tables of used dishes, utensils, and glassware upon completion of meals.
- Supporting the waitstaff by refilling water glasses, delivering bread, and other tasks to enhance the dining experience.
- Monitoring and restocking necessary items such as napkins, silverware, etc.
- Supporting the setup and breakdown of tables and equipment for unique events.
Daily Tasks:
- Pick up orders from the kitchen and verify accuracy.
- Deliver food to the correct tables.
- Effectively communicate with kitchen staff and front of the house staff.
- Maintain a clean working environment.
- Be flexible and adaptable to handle different tasks when assigned
- Clearing and resetting tables as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining rooms.
- Refill bread and water, as necessary.
- Restock supplies as needed.
Long-Term Objectives
- Streamline the food delivery process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to elevated levels of member satisfaction.
- Explore opportunities to cross train in other positions (i.e., housemen, server, etc.)
Reporting Structure and Interactions:
- Runner/Busser will report directly to the Dining Room Supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2 years previous experience in a similar environment preffered.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Capable of handling the physical demands of the job.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
