Responsibilities:
1. Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and production, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to established recipes and standards.
2. Staff Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to the prep team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Assist in training and development of culinary team members.
3. Quality Control: Maintain a keen eye for detail, ensuring consistency in the preparation.
4. Ordering and Inventory: Assist in managing inventory levels, placing orders for ingredients, and monitoring stock to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
5. Cooking skills: Experienced and comfortable utilizing different cooking techniques in order to prepare protein, sauces, vegetables etc.
6. Collaboration with Chef / manager: Work closely with the Chef de Cuisine and general manager to align kitchen strategies, share insights, and collectively drive the success of the culinary team.
7. Flexibility and Cross-Training: Be adaptable and willing to cover various kitchen stations and positions as needed, contributing to a well-rounded and cohesive kitchen team.
8. Availability: Demonstrate flexibility and availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of the restaurant.
9. Adherence to Standards: Enforce health and safety regulations, sanitation practices, and kitchen hygiene standards. Uphold cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.
Baking and bread production experience is a plus.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen. Expertise in Lebanese cuisine is a plus.
2. Culinary degree or equivalent experience showcasing a deep understanding of cooking techniques and flavor profiles.
3. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a culinary team.
4. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, especially during busy service periods.
5. Commitment to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
7. The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
