Camelia, a new restaurant in the Arts District from the team behind Tsubaki and OTOTO, is seeking dining room managers for an upcoming opening. Designed as a Tokyo bistro, the menu will be French in style with lots of Japanese influence, and a robust wine and sake program complemented by a full cocktail menu.
With an opening slated for early May, we are looking to bring on key positions in March as part of our pre-opening team. This is a leadership position that will work closely with our chef and owners to develop systems, define service standards, and strive to create something special.
We're looking for someone with:
- immense curiosity and love for food and beverage
- excitement for genuine hospitality and service
- excellent communication skills, both in-person and via email
- an understanding of restaurant financials, P&L fluency
- the ability to recruit, train, and inspire a team
- a focus on problem-solving
- computer and POS literacy (Excel, Resy, etc)
- at least two years of restaurant management experience in a fast-paced, chef-driven dining environment (or similar)
Responsibiltiies will include:
- as part of the pre-opening team, working to develop systems and participating in training of hourly staff
- providing consistent support to hourly team and maintaining active participation in service
- day-to-day restaurant operations, including opening + closing, cash management, menu maintenance, etc.
- exemplify good hospitality within the team, with guests, and with vendors
- work with leadership team to manage inventories
- maintain a safe and healthy facility in line with Health Department guidelines
- collaborate regularly with leadership team to strategize ways to manage restaurant financials
- participate in staff education on food + beverage
