The Rudder, an iconic restaurant and bar since the 1950s, is seeking full-time and part-time Hosts. Located in the Rocky Neck neighborhood of Gloucester, The Rudder has a decidedly neighborhood vibe that is warm and inviting. The restaurant also invites guests to visit us by boat and dine with us right on the water. Combining the fine food and attentive hospitality of Chef Barbara Lynch, The Rudder offers a rotating menu highlighting Gloucester’s local seafood and operates April-December each year (seasonal).

Representing a variety of backgrounds and experiences, everyone is united by a shared commitment to excellence, education, and hospitality. Candidates must have availability on weekends, days, and evenings as well as experience in a high volume full service restaurant. Ideal candidates will thrive in a team culture focused on exceeding guest expectations. 

Qualifications: 
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Familiarity with OpenTable 
- Detail Oriented 
- Great interpersonal/Communication skills
- Relevent Host experience required (Ideally 1-2 years) 
- Passionate about hospitality 
- Willingness to embrace the challenge to excel
- Professional and friendly demeanor
