The Restaurant Manager has the overall responsibility for directing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas and ensuring that the highest quality products and services are delivered to each customer.
We are looking for someone passionate and hands-on to play the key role in operating and growing this restaurant, which is still a hidden gem in the community though has been consistently growing over the last year, getting busier every day.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as floor manager or similar experience in the restaurant industry
-Food Protection Certificate from DOH
- Network to build a team and experience managing teams in both FOH and BOH
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with customers and employees
- Specific experience with Toast POS, Toast Payroll, Toast Tip Manager, and Resy is a plus
Key duties & responsibilities:
-Hire and train new front of house service staff (bar, servers, runners)
-Improve service and customer experience
- Manage the daily operations of the restaurant, including the hiring and training of employees
- Manage schedule, performance, and appearance of staff
- Review and approve time sheets, process payroll, and coordinate with insurance/health benefit providers
- Directly responsible for controlling Profit & Loss (P&L), by following procedures, maintaining inventory (and tracking), managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions
- Ensure that the restaurant is cleaned and maintained to excellent standards
- Manage all vendor/service relationships, working together with the Chef and/or Kitchen Manager to order the required supplies and raw food materials in timely manner
-Ability to drive new business and generate revenue opportunities
- Manage online presence as well as pickup & delivery services (Toast, Uber Eats, etc.)
- Create restaurant operations checklist of various procedures (opening & closing, customer service, inventory management, sanitary practices, etc.)
- Create guidelines for general services (restaurant cleaning, grease trap cleaning, exterminator, security, etc.)
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards and federal, state, and local law ordinances.
- Liaise with our outsourced accounting & financial services company, and manage all processes and systems needed (Restaurant365, POS, payroll, etc.)
- Work with Kosher supervision agency to ensure restaurant follows proper practices
Hours:
Restaurant is open Monday through Thursday and all day on Sunday for Brunch and Dinner.
The person filling this position should expect to work 50-60 hours per week, from 12PM – 10:30PM on days where the restaurant is open.
It is closed on Fridays and Saturdays (except for when private events are scheduled).
The Floor Manager is expected to be on premises for most if not all times when the restaurant is open in order to lead the service team and ensure spectacular customer experience.
Compensation:
- $70,000 Depending on experience + discretionary end of year bonus
- 15 days PTO
