Job Description: AMAVI Mediterranean Restaurant is seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality dishes that exceed our guests' expectations. This is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional who is eager to showcase their skills and contribute to the success of a dynamic restaurant concept.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and execute creative and innovative menu offerings inspired by Mediterranean cuisine.
  2. Assist in managing and supervising kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  3. Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  4. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality control.
  5. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.
  6. Demonstrate leadership and mentorship qualities, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork among kitchen staff.
  7. Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and menu engineering to maximize profitability and guest satisfaction.
  8. Actively participate in menu tastings, special events, and promotional activities to showcase the restaurant's culinary offerings.
  9. Stay informed about current culinary trends and techniques, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development and growth.
  10. Uphold AMAVI's standards of excellence in food quality, presentation, and service, striving to exceed guest expectations with every dish served.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience working as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role in a high-volume restaurant environment, preferably with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine.
  2. Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of Mediterranean cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
  3. Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire kitchen staff to achieve culinary excellence.
  4. Solid knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to upholding health code standards.
  5. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  6. Creative and innovative mindset, with a passion for exploring new flavors and culinary trends.
  7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  8. Culinary degree or relevant certification from a recognized culinary institution is preferred.
