POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a dedicated and professional Line Cook to assist the kitchen staff members by setting up the workplace stations and prepping food and plating dishes according to the Chef’s specifications. Our Line Cooks work with other back-of-house team members to execute signature dishes, assisting the Executive Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine with their daily tasks. Successful candidates must be able to multitask, take initiative, be highly organized and excel in a fast-paced environment. This is a tipped position.
LINE COOK RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Have full knowledge of our restaurant’s food offerings and beverage program
- Fluent in our cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules and restaurant policies
- Adhere to the Chef’s specifications, restaurant standards, kitchen rules and restaurant policies and procedures
- Ensure that the preparation and line stations, and the kitchen are set up, stocked and maintained
- Prepare and assemble a variety of food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills and other kitchen equipment
- Follow proper plate presentation and prepare garnishes for all dishes
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure a smooth and an efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the Manager or immediate supervisor
- Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
- Embody and deliver on exceptional service and hospitality
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of previous/relevant experience in a high-end, high-volume restaurant
- Relevant certificates, licenses (Ex. Servsafe) or registrations including a valid Food Handler Card (Must have upon hire)
- Knowledge and compliance with food safety regulations and procedures, and health and sanitation guidelines
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- A positive attitude, excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Flexible schedule and availability to work daytime, evening and/or weekend shifts
