About Atelier Crenn

Dominique Crenn opened Atelier Crenn, an ode to “poetic culinaria,” with her business partner Juan Contreras in January 2011. The restaurant achieved its first Michelin Star that same year and garnered a second the following year. In 2018, Atelier Crenn became the first female-led, US restaurant to receive three Michelin Stars. Since then, Chef Crenn’s flagship restaurant has evolved, now telling the story of California through food, highlighting local fish, seafood, and produce from its own regenerative farm in Sonoma.

Crenn Dining Group is seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. Qualities & Skills Required:

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a high-end restaurant
  • Culinary degree or equivalent training
  • Deep understanding of French cuisine and a passion for culinary innovation

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities:

Culinary Expertise:

  • Execute and oversee the preparation of high-quality dishes in accordance with Atelier Crenn's culinary standards.
  • Ensure consistency and precision in all aspects of food production, adhering to the restaurant's unique style and vision.

Team Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate closely with the culinary team, including sous chefs and other chefs de partie, to maintain a harmonious and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Communicate effectively and contribute to a positive and constructive team atmosphere.

Station Management:

  • Take ownership of a specific kitchen station, managing and organizing it to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on techniques, recipes, and standards.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control measures to uphold the restaurant's reputation for excellence.
  • Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring the use of fresh and premium ingredients.

Adhere to Standards:

  • Follow and enforce all food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
  • Adhere to Atelier Crenn's culinary philosophy and contribute to the continuous improvement of culinary techniques.

Compensation Details

$19 - $25 per hour, plus tips

Dominique Crenn is the chef and owner of the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Atelier Crenn in San Francisco, where artistry is at the forefront, cuisine is a craft, and the community is an inspiration. “Atelier” can be defined as a workshop or studio, a concept that drives Chef Crenn’s modern vision for fine French cuisine. Her highly distinctive French heritage and imaginative gastronomic lair behind the stove at Atelier Crenn is a clear reflection of her unique life story.

Driven by her passion to create a deeply personal project, Crenn opened Atelier Crenn, a place to express her heritage as well as an ode to “poetic culinaria,” in January 2011. Atelier Crenn achieved its first Michelin Star within a year, in October of 2011. In the following year, Crenn made history again when Atelier Crenn received its second Michelin Star, becoming the first female chef in the US to receive this honor. In November 2018, Crenn beat her own record and became the first female chef in the US to receive three Michelin Stars.

Atelier Crenn celebrates California's rich bounty, highlighting plants, fish, and seafood from the region. Guests embark on a journey that guides them through different places and times, and introduces indigenous plants, practices, and influences that are the essence to the state.
