EVENTS DIRECTOR/FLOOR MANAGER Director of Events & Guest Relations
Two stunning new hospitality venues in the Flatiron/Nomad at a historic hotel, BRASS restaurant (opening in mid-September) and THE, TUSK BAR (named an Esquire Best Bar in America, 2024), and NINEPIN CAFE, new food and beverage concepts in the Evelyn Hotel in Flatiron/ Nomad, are seeking a lead of events and guest relations to work closely with our experienced FOH and BOH teams to manage events from sales through execution, as well as oversee guest communications, including assist with reservations and administrative duties.
Events Director to oversee and sell the events program of multiple outlets in tandem with our General Manager as well as execute service for all booked events. With Michelin star culinary partners, this high profile project includes five event venues for booking, and and a strong front of house team in place we are looking for career oriented professionals with strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, communication and a deep love of hospitality to join our growing team. the highest of ambitions.
Job Duties include but are not limited to
- Oversight of events program in Brass, Tusk Bar and Ninepin Cafe, from responding to inquiries through to completion
- Open to close Close oversight of execution of all booked events, coordinating closely with the kitchen and FOH teams
- Internal and External Event sales and outreach
- Planning event menus and executionng with the BOH team, in accordance with the venue’s mission and philosophy., pricing the menus to maximize profitability.
- Daily management of Tripleseattriple seat and integration with reservation platform open table, in tandem with restaurant managementthe service diretor
- Coordination of events with The Evelyn hotel team as needed Coordination with the hotel events team
- Updating and coordination of key events assets, including menus
- Managing and ensuring smooth communication with various event stakeholders and vendors
- Managing of VIP restaurant reservations and key guest communications
- Establish high standards for personnel performance and customer service within the events program
- Monitor event supplies inventory and payroll expenditure in accordance with authorized budgets.
- Responsible for meeting and exceeding budgeted event sales goals, with incentives for exceeding including commission.
- Willingness to assist in the administrative operations of the project to ensure smooth functioning of the office and support the management team In addition to event specific duties this position will also require restaurant floor coverage 2 nights a week
Requirements:
NYC DOH Food handlers card
At least 3 years experience in NYC restaurant, with close involvement in event coordination and execution in a beverage management role
Familiarity with BEOs, ROSs and other tools of event coordination
Clean & organized working habits with keen attention to detail
Team player and good communicator with a positive attitude
Passion for hospitality and restaurants
Computer literacy (email, Excel, etc) and experience with restaurant reservations platform; experience with InDesign preferred
