Service Manager: Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks
Overview of Concept:
Garrett Harker and ES Hospitality have opened multiple exciting hospitality venues just steps from Kenmore Square and Fenway Park. Among these is the triumphant return of Eastern Standard Kitchen and Drinks. Best known for Eastern Standard, Island Creek Oyster Bar and The Hawthorne, Garrett is once again bringing enlightened hospitality and high energy operations to the Fenway neighborhood. Garrett is joined by Beverage Director Jackson Cannon in the construction and operation of these concepts.
Overview of the Position:
The Service Manager position will be responsible for supporting the General Manager in managing the Eastern Standard FOH team and overseeing the restaurants’ day-to-day operations. The primary focuses of this role will be in-service leadership, connecting with guests, and daily operational tasks. This is a role for candidates who are excited to continue to learn and grow professionally and who are eager to work with talented food and beverage colleagues in a legacy restaurant with a multi-daypart, multi-venue layout.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the day-to-day management of a team of FOH members
- Participate in restaurant opening and closing shifts and associated duties as restaurant manager
- Lead by example to guide and empower the FOH staff on the floor, maintaining a hands on presence throughout each service
- Focus on ensuring proper steps of service are being followed across all FOH stations and staff: on the door, tableside and support
- Execute and support the training of new hires in accordance with outlined procedures
- Focus on cultivating meaningful relationships with guests through guest interaction with the goal of creating returning diners and regulars
- Take part in staff scheduling and special projects as necessary
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience working in restaurant management preferred
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
