The Dabney is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to add to our team.
Recognized by the James Beard Foundation (Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic, 2018) and the Michelin Guide (One Star 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), The Dabney is located in the historic Blagden Alley in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC. The restaurant features seasonal and Mid-Atlantic inspired cuisine cooked in a wood burning hearth. Chef Langhorne is looking to hire an experienced and passionate sous chef who has a desire to work with the best seasonal ingredients in a professional kitchen that values learning, team work and growth.
Desired Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of kitchen management experience in well-rated kitchens
- Experience training and mentoring a team of line cooks
- Passion for teaching
- Attention to detail
- Love of quality ingredients and experience working with small farmers and purveyors
- Flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and work demands
- Positive attitude
- Ability to handle restaurant operations and interactions in a professional manner
- Degree in culinary arts from an accredited University preferred
