Job Details

We are seeking an energetic Kitchen Manager for Roxy & Jo’s Seafood Grill and Oyster Bar, located in The Original Farmers Market on 3rd and Fairfax. Our establishment is known for its lively atmosphere, friendly service, and, most importantly, delicious seafood offerings.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for seafood, a flair for creativity, and a desire to contribute to the development of an exciting and unique menu. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef looking to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Take the lead in creating and updating a diverse and appealing menu that highlights the best of quick-service seafood offerings and oyster bar delicacies.
  • Daily Specials: Create daily and weekly specials, showcasing the fresh fish offering from our nearby Seafood Market
  • Quality Control: Ensure the consistent quality of all dishes, emphasizing the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients and maintaining high standards of presentation.
  • Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and inventory management, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Bring fresh and innovative ideas to the table, experimenting with flavors and techniques to elevate the dining experience and keep the menu dynamic.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff to train, motivate, and inspire a cohesive team dedicated to delivering top-notch culinary creations.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, following all health and safety guidelines to ensure the well-being of both staff and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in a seafood-focused or grill setting.
  • Creativity and a passion for experimenting with flavors and presentation.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both kitchen staff and management.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20-23 per hour plus tips (est $125.00-$350.00 per week)

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $23.00) plus tips
