SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under the direction of the Cotogna FOH management team, perform assigned responsibilities necessary for service of guests in the restaurant, in keeping with the standards of Quince & Co by greeting, seating and making reservations for guests. Be the lead of the host stand and manage guest levels and satisfaction with the assistance of management.



RESPONSIBILITY AND SPAN OF AUTHORITY:

  1. Responsible for greeting all guest in a warm, friendly and welcoming manner.
  2. Accurately record reservations and do everything possible to accommodate guest needs.
  3. Maximize seating in the Cotogna dining room by manipulation the reservation sheet.
  4. Communicate all VIP and guests of note to ownership, management and the Chef.
  5. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work environment. Keep all service stations/areas clean and organized at all times.
  6. Responsible for the general cleanliness and stocking of guest restrooms.
  7. Report any and all issues that arise with guests to a member of management in a timely fashion.
  8. Confirm all outstanding reservations on a daily basis.
  9. Greet and say goodbye to all guests at Cotogna.
  10. Have a working daily knowledge of the menu.
  11. Maintain a personal appearance that is neat and clean and have a clean and pressed uniform at all times.
  12. All other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous restaurant host experience required
  • Experience with using SevenRooms or similar reservations platform
  • Food Handler’s certification
  • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly and safely
  • Must be able to work in a stationary position for 7-8 hours (excluding breaks) at a time
  • Must be able to comply with all health and safety standards
