We are looking to add a server to our kitchen team at Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City. As a private, members-only club, we pride ourselves in offering outstanding hospitality to our members and guests in a warm and professional atmosphere. We hope to add both a passionate and self-motivated cook to our team.
We've reopened our course after an extensive renovation and are seeking staff who will share our enthusiasm to be a part of this new phase of our 100-year-old club.
The ideal candidate should be someone that is passionate about daily food operations and and preparing wonderful dishes for our diners. The Line Cook is responsible for maintaining menu efficiency & food production for each of the various areas throughout the clubhouse. These areas include but are not limited to our Restaurant, Quick Turn & Banquet Room which vary in size from a la carte individual meals to 150+ person banquets as well as large professional Golf tournaments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
- Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks
- Plating prepared foods based on Executive Chef’s guidance.
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time.
- Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts
- Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations.
- Ensures recipes & menus are executed to the expected level of standard for all restaurant outlets and club events.
- Ensures that high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are always maintained throughout the kitchen area.
- Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the kitchen, its equipment, and other areas of the club.
- Evaluates food products to ensure that quality standards are consistently obtained.
Qualification Requirements

- Positive outlook & outgoing personality
- Previous Kitchen experience (2+ years preferred)
- Experience in a wide range of cooking techniques and styles
- Ability to follow direction & meet quality standards.
- Flexible availability
- CA State Serv-Safe certification required.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common professional journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles, for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
