Sullivan Street Bakery is seeking a Barista to join our team. We are a Roman inspired bakery specializing in rustic sourdough loaves, and operate 2 bakery cafes in Manhattan. All our baristas are cross trained on counter service, and work as a team to take orders, pack and serve food, prepare drinks, and take payment. Successful team members thrive in a fast paced environment, cultivate regular guests with great hospitality, and are passionate about good food and great coffee.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with regular guests
- Set up and maintain the display of breads, pastries, sandwiches and pizza
- Prepare drinks to order, according to our specifications
- Maintain a focus on the guests and drive sales growth with proactive hospitality
- Maintain a clean, orderly and well merchandised store
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in food and beverage customer service is required
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures and take directions, work as a team player.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
