Pizzeria da Laura is a brand new Pizzeria and Restaurant in Berkeley. In partnership with the Executive Chef, the General Manager will oversee and coordinate the planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest services and satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the management team to work collaboratively to achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
- Manage and develop direct reports towards individual growth and quality standards of excellence.
- Ensure consistent, thorough, and timely communication to subordinates, peers, managers, customers and vendors.
- Understand and implement all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
- Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the properties standards.
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with the restaurant’s accounting policies and procedures.
- Make employment and termination decisions consistent with policies and procedures set forth.
- Fill in where needed to ensure the guest experience is never compromised as a result of operational challenges.
- Continually strive to provide opportunities to advance the education and development of staff as it relates to food, wine, and service.
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance schedule.
- Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
- Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
- Know, follow and implement all policies and procedures regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, standards and procedures.
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Be able to stand for a minimum of 6 hours while walking up and down stairs.
- Be able to lift 50lbs
