The Popal Group is a growing family-driven boutique hospitality group setting the standard for DC dining through ambitious restaurant concepts. We are currently seeking an Assistant General Manager or Floor Manager to join the team for our newest restaurant, Pascual. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of service and hospitality, and a passion for creating a positive work environment for our employees.

As AGM you will be responsible for building and maintaining an exceptional bar program, as well as helping to train and lead our bar team. 

Responsibilities:

• Support the General Manager to lead, schedule, train, manage, coach and review employees, 
• Ensure that every shift is executed to achieve operational excellence and genuinely warm hospitality.
• Communicate with GM, management team and corporate office personnel in a timely manner
• Help the management team and restaurant team with events, banquets and other projects
• In the absence of the General Manager act as Manager on Duty, supporting and overseeing restaurant operations

Requirements:

• 3+ years hospitality industry experience
• 1+ year of restaurant management 
• Strong knowledge of high-end spirits, cocktails, wine, craft beer preferred
• Must be computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), Toast, and others
• Communicate openly, clearly and effectively with a positive, solutions-oriented demeanor
• Must be able to work nights and weekends
• Must be friendly, polite and professional
• Some coffee and tea knowledge preferred 
• ServSafe Alcohol certified, or other approved alcoholic beverage certification strongly preferred
• Evening and weekend availability
