Hewn, a nationally recognized and independently owned artisan bakery in Evanston, Illinois is seeking an experienced savory chef to join our hard-working and talented team. We take enormous pride in our work, making everything from scratch, by hand, using locally sourced and organic ingredients. We are located within walking distance to the lake and public transportation. The Savory team makes breakfast and lunch items, including sandwiches, toasts and other special items.  This is a daytime position - no evening hours are required!

Required Skills: You must know kitchen basics, including understanding ingredients. Good knife skills and an understanding of food safety guidelines are required. You must be able to work efficiently and carefully in a fast-paced environment. You must also enjoy working with a team.

Required Experience: The ideal candidate has a culinary degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional kitchen experience.  Management experience is preferred.  Candidates must be available to work weekends and lift 50 lbs.
