Assistant General Manager & Wine Director:
Pausa Bar & Cookery in downtown San Mateo is seeking a motivated individual to be our Assistant General Manager and Wine Director. The position requires genuine hospitality with a passion for food and wine, strong leadership skills, and a positive attitude.
We require at least 2 years of restaurant management experience, but more importantly a willingness to continue and strengthen our excellent tradition of food and guest service. Pausa has been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand for each of the last 6 years.
The right candidate should enjoy interacting with guests while implementing our steps of service. Applicants shall be considered upon their capabilities in:
- elevating guest experience
- prioritizing tasks and problem-solving
- support for fellow staff
- leading our Italian wine program
- driving revenue, while monitoring labor and costs of goods
- educating staff on wine and spirits
- inventory management, and maintaining healthy relationships with vendors
- elevating operational and personnel duties
- maintaining a strong presence on the floor while upholding standards and culture
- hiring, training and motivating staff
- overseeing private dining events to ensure they are being executed properly
Our Assistant General Manager and Wine Director position is provided with a competitive salary with 2 weeks PTO, monthly bonus, meals, health benefits and is designed with growth opportunities.
