Conceived by Jeff Cerciello, former Culinary Director for the Thomas Keller Group, Farmshop opened in 2010 in the Brentwood Country Mart. An instant hit, Farmshop has become both a destination for food enthusiasts and where guests have come to enjoy locally sourced, California-inspired fare served daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as a large artisan market and bakery with some of the area's best Viennoiserie and baked goods, along with a carefully curated selection of wine, chocolate, cheese, organic produce and one of kind housewares. A second location in the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur includes a similar restaurant / market concept where locally sourced, California-inspired fare is served daily for lunch and dinner. A third business in Culver City, services over 180 wholesale accounts in the Southern California region, providing a wide assortment of baked goods and savory items.
Job Description
Farmshop currently seeks a Server to join the management team in our Santa Monica location. Ability to provide exceptional service to our guests and work with kithcen staff to maximize efficiency of service. Must be a people person to succeed in this role.
Qualifications:
- ** Hospitality first philosophy ** 2 years’ experience
- working in fine dining restaurants a plus.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, with a smile.
- Ability to provide warm, professional & knowledgeable service in a high intensity work environment. Must have a commitment to deliver a unique and MEMORABLE guest experience.
- A complete understanding of Northern Californian produce & cuisine.
- A deep understanding of wine, beers and spirits, with the willingness to learn.
- Weekend availability a plus.

Education/Experience Requirements
Training and Experience:
- A minimum of 2-3 years experience in a service capacity
- A plus to have a high school diploma, formal culinary education is preferred.
- Be able to communicate and understand English & a reasonable amount of Spanish.
- Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.
- Must be well groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture and have required uniform and tools.
- Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Farmshop.
- Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate computer software programs including spreadsheet applications.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to provide a welcoming environment for our guests.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($16.78) plus tips
