NEXUS Club New York is a private membership club in downtown Manhattan. We are hiring a SERVER who will serve as an ambassador of hospitality for NEXUS Club. We are looking for someone who is passionate about serving others, making people feel genuinely welcome while maintaining the highest standards of service and operation. We need a motivated and hungry individual who can contribute to a positive team environment and work cohesively with others to deliver an exceptional experience. A multi-tasker who can handle pressure and high volume with grace and a great attitude.

Primary Duties

• Provide a high level of genuine hospitality to every member and guest at all times throughout the day and spaces.
• Anticipating and fulfilling a wide assortment of member or guest needs and wants, both food and beverage and non-food and beverage related.
• Treat every member, guest, employee, and vendor with respect, dignity, and kindness.
• Uphold the values, mission, and standards set forth by NEXUS Club New York.
• Maintain complete understanding of culinary and beverage menus including ingredients, sides, presentation, and possible allergens
• Ensure tables and stations are set up with proper condiments, utensils, menus, glassware, paper supplies, and miscellaneous needs.
• Take member and guest food and beverage orders, utilize salesmanship techniques, make appropriate recommendations, and upsell when the occasion presents itself.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks including but not limited to tables, chairs, glassware, silverware, floors, bar counters, food/beverage preparation machines, etc.
• Assist in monitoring and achieving company objectives in sales, service standards, and quality of products offered to members and guests.

• Working knowledge of a Barista Station. In this dynamic environment, it is likely that you'll find yourself attending to members in the Central Cafe. One should expect smoothies, grab-and-go snacks and drinks. Our standard menus are also available in the Cafe, and not uncommon for people to want to dine in there as well. 

• Friendly and engaging personality. Hospitality should be part of your natural demeanor.
• Experience in upscale dining and/or luxury environments.
• Ability to deliver an eclectic amount of service styles from casual bar to upscale dining.
• Working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and classic drink recipes.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to learn quickly, retain information, and apply the knowledge on the job.
• Perform other job related duties as required by management or requested by members or guests.
• Weekend availability a must.
