Executive Chef Rob Rubba's Hazel, the newest upscale restaurant by Neighborhood Restaurant Group, is looking for enthusiastic individuals to be part of our opening team. Hazel will open in the Atlantic Plumbing development in DC's Shaw neighborhood across from the 9:30 club and newly opened Landmark movie theatre. With an intimate 40 seat dining room, a 16 seat bar that opens up to the extensive patio, and additional outdoor private dining space, the restaurant will appeal to nearly every facet of dining experience.
Hazel will feature progressive American cuisine - combining flavors from around the world with traditional and contemporary techniques to create dishes that are refined, distinctive, and satisfying. Some of our classics in the making are Grandma's Zucchini Bread with Foie Gras Mousse or Gnocchi Bokki with pork-kimchi ragu on the menu. From the custom designed tableware to the intricacies of tea and beverage service, each and every aspect of the dining experience will be a personal and thoughtful reflection of Chef Rubba and his vision for Hazel. Complementing the menu will be a focused beverage program from Greg Engert, emphasizing global flavors that set off Chef Rubba's cuisine.
