MATCHAFUL Store Lead
Matchaful offers sustainable Japanese matcha and active botanical nutrition. We have (6) cafe locations in NYC and are passionate about leading the matcha movement in a thoughtful, elevated and respectable way. Making matcha is all about the highest level of integrity, recipe mastery, and the energy to showcase your creations. We are looking for caring and diligent Store Leaders to join our growing team.
As Matchaful’s Store Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the daily operations, people, and sales initiatives at your location. You will help to ensure the highest level of quality for our incredible matcha-based wellness drinks and food, maintain an organized & aesthetic location, and uphold the highest level of customer service—all while forging unique connections with our staff and our guests.
About You:
Experienced leader comfortable managing a team
Appreciative of aesthetics with an eye for detail
Extreme care for the café space, both customer facing and back-of-house
Clear and effective communication skills to employees, customers, and management
Excellent customer service skills and desire for connecting with our community
Commitment to improving our café operations and presentation
Requirements:
3+ years of hospitality leadership experience
Wellness background | major plus
Food handlers permit | required after 30 days
Core responsibilities:
- Lead Matcharista team by providing exemplary customer service, sales, and team support.
- Track progress and motivate team to achieve store priorities and directives, including sales goals
- Oversee shifts to ensure productivity and cleanliness standards are met and exceeded
- Ensure staff comply with dress code, etiquette, and DOH policies. Assist in disciplinary measures
- Train staff on new menu launches and to develop their skills, communicating performance updates to General & People Managers
- Assist with onboarding new team members to your location
- Attend weekly manager meeting to review location and company-wide priorities and sales goals
- Coordinate schedule and ensure shifts are covered when staff are sick or no-shows, communicating needs and changes as-needed to your staff
- Conduct weekly and monthly inventories in MarketMan, place orders to suppliers, and communicate shortages and repairs to management. Keep storage areas tidy and organized
- Collect and respond to feedback from customers and staff and create solutions to improve overall performance of your location
